…Siddhartha began to speak and said: “Well, Govinda, are we on the right road? Are we gaining knowledge? Are we approaching salvation? Or are we perhaps going in circles—we who thought to escape from the cycle?”
Govinda said: “We have learned much, Siddhartha. There still remains much to learn. We are not going in circles, we […]

Upgraded My Wordpress
I’ve finally updated my Wordpress Blog to 2.2. Not to many problems, and I only needed to update one of my plugins, so things kinda went pretty smooth. I love the new auto-save feature, and the export import file thing.
Random Facts
This is a bit of a late one. Thanks Terri for tagging me!
I’ve […]

We had a temporary guest kipping on our balcony the other night. A bat we named Spike, after the vampire from Buffy
He only stuck around for a couple of hours, but it was really cool seeing Spike (although he was a bit groggy) up close.

leontocephaline: Of Time and Eternity
Also associated with the Mithraic cult was the statue of a lion-headed figure (leontocephaline), whose body was entwined by a spiraling serpent.
This statue, I believe, represents both the lunar-temporal reality, corresponding with the revolving (serpentine) planetary path leading to cosmic release, and the solar-eternal reality, corresponding with the eighth gate mentioned […]

Thanks to Kay for linking to this post. if you want to cut to the chase, this is My view of Christianity and why it no longer works for me
In my original about page I crammed what I believed into these sentances:
All living things were created to exist in complete harmony with God in Eternity, […]

Originally part of the Lunar Beasts series, but I felt that it doesn’t quite fit the subject matter, which primarily focuses on the Lunar Beast, a symbol that is related to other mythical ideas of the ever-revolving cosmos of death and life, such as this one, although without any actual lunar-moon symbols.
According to […]

I have walked the Christian path on and off for around 11 years. The former half (probably the last 4 or 5 years) as a Fundamentalist Christian, and the latter as a Liberal Christian. I never actually applied either of those terms to myself, but I guess they are the simplest ways to describe my […]

I begin to sing of Pallas Athene,
the glorious goddess, bright-eyed,
inventive, unbending of heart,
pure virgin, saviour of cities,
courageous, Tritogeneia.
From his awful head wise Zeus himself
bare her arrayed in warlike arms of flashing gold,
and awe seized all the gods as they gazed.
But Athena sprang quickly from the immortal head
and stood before Zeus who holds the […]

Dream of Shiva
In my dream I saw Shiva, then someone painted blue with long ears dressed as Shiva, and then I’m sure It was me who dressed up as the god. I remember some vague stuff about mystical marriages. I think Shiva’s wife was there also, I think it was Sati, dressed in white. It […]

I came across an interesting tradition at Dance of the Mind earlier, regarding the Leviathan, found in the Talmudic tractate Baba Batra:
Rab Judah said in the name of Rab: All that the Holy One, blessed be He, created in his world he created male and female. Likewise, Leviathan the slant serpent and Leviathan the tortuous […]
