There’s Some Serious Blog Love Going Around
August 28, 2008 at 9:19 pm by mahud
Aquila ka Hecate nominated me for the I Love your Blog award, with these kind words:
…for being far and away the most original of explorers of NeoPaganism and Mythology I have come across on the Net.
Aquila ka Hecate: Blog Honours
Thank you so much, Terri! Considering I’ve only been calling myself Pagan for little over a year, your words mean a great deal to me. I love your blog too
Thank You!
I’ve been following this award for a couple of weeks and have discovered many new and wonderful blogs because of it. Anyway, here are the…
Nominees
- Druid Journal
- Not sure if Jeff Lilly has been nominated yet or not and so I’d like to include him in my list of nominees. I learned so much through Jeff’s writings, and he has influenced me quite a bit, and given me fresh insights into the world of nature and spirit, and the potential of growth for all of us —no matter what our spiritual beliefs happen to be— who are seeking connection with the divine. Jeff is one of the most open-minded Pagans I’ve come across, he’s not afraid to examine his own beliefs, share his weaknesses as well as his strengths. Jeff is a talented writer who articulates and presents his thoughts, ideas, and beliefs in many creative ways. So Go Jeff!!
- Druid’s Apprentice
- I’d like to included Nettle’s blog as another nominee. It’s not often that I don’t get something inspiring or informative from her blog. Another brilliant well read writer, with a full-on connection with the world of the sacred within nature.
- Indian Temples and Iconography
- Kavitha Kalyan is a devotee of Lord Siva/Shiva, who has written so many wonderful articles about her experience of Hindu temples and other places where the divine might be made manifest in our hearts, she also provides great background information about these sacred sites, as well as their mythical associations. Her descriptions (always accompanied by Photographs and sometimes even You Tube, so we may explore the temples for themselves). A very prolific and knowledgeable writer who, above all, loves Shiva. I cannot recommend this blog highly enough to anyone with an interest in shaivism and Hinduism, or spirituality in general.
- Symbolic Meanings
- A. Venefica’s blog provides a wealth of information about the meaning and interpretation of symbols throughout the world according to many different traditions. As a student of mythology I find that the research and insight that goes into her articles a helpful resource, and helps me look in fresh ways at mythic-images. A great resource for anyone looking for the meaning of a particular symbol.
- Paleothea: the Ancient Goddess
- Ailia, as the title suggests (with the sub-heading: thoughts on and introductions to the females in Greek myths), writes in a lively highly enjoyable and accessible style. Well researched (She knows her Greek mythology, perhaps at an academic level), Ailia provides a great resource for those of us who want to learn more about the role of Goddesses and Woman in Greek myth, and their relevance to us today in modern society.
- Panthea: All Things are Goddess
- Apart from being a talented artist and web designer Lee Hutchings writes about The All-Mother, or Universal Goddess, and has even written a book (generously available for download on her site) about the Tridean Goddess Tradition. You might also like to check out her beautifully designed and informative Virtual Goddess Temples.
- Quaker Pagan Reflections
- I’ve been following Quaker Pagan Reflections for over a year now, mostly in eager anticipation of each new instalment of Cat Chapin-Bishop’s Cat’s Spiritual Journey Series (to be continued). At Quaker Pagan’s you’ll find a mix of many interesting and diverse posts many of which touch upon the Christian heritage of the Society of Friends and it’s inclusion of those who are non-Christian. Both Peter Bishop and Cat explore and share with their readers a new way of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the divine.
