Around a week ago, Jeff posted his third and final part of the Steve Pavlina Book Review.
I had been meditating/pondering quite a bit the hero’s/fool’s journey quite a bit, and I shuffled and cut the deck and flipped over the Fool. I thought it would be cool if I could try again and flip The World. So again shuffled and cut the deck and flipped over the Page of Swords. Well I didn’t really expect I’d pull it off, but I was curious as to how far off I was from picking the World, and I turned the deck over and there it was; the very last card!
The Fool and the World
I guess I’ve some way to go before I achieve universal harmony with the cosmos, eh? …sigh.
The truth is, I am in a ’spiritual’ rut at the moment. I’m letting my anxiety get on top of me, which leads to apathy, affecting not only my religious practices, but also my studies.
Anyway, flipping the Page of Swords was a good reminder of what came up in an earlier reading connected with my Interfaith Synchroblog post:
The suit of swords is related to the element of air and the mind. As I understand it, this card seems to indicate the beginning (as indicated by the page, who heralds new beginnings) of a learning process through an exchange of ideas. The card can also be read in terms of immature communication: an important step in the process of developing mental abilities and communication skills. Once matured, these can lead to a deeper understanding of things. Perhaps this card is showing me that I need to (continually) re-approach my own beliefs in the light of other’s points of view. And/or develop my communicative abilities
