Why Cernunnos?

Some time ago I was considering following a pantheon (either Irish-Celtic or Nordic, as I’m English-Irish). I inquired about this using Tarot, asking, “Should I become familiar with the Celtic or Norse divinities?” On reflection it was a dumb question, as it is my experience that Tarot (my prime method of communication with the divine) doesn’t answer those kind of queries. Really life choices are for us as individuals to decide, while divinity simply indicates the kind of transformation we need to make within ourselves if we truly wish to become aware of our sacred selves (that’s my current opinion anyway).

While not answering my specific question, Tarot did indicate that I should continue following my current path. Rather than seeking a particular group of deities, I should stick with fostering those aspects of myself which are integral to my growth as a human being (more on what those aspects are later).

So, I’m sticking with Cernunnos as the focal point of my sacred self-development. Another reason why I’ve decided to call my individual journey of transformation “Cernunnos’ Path.”

I had a similar experience a while back. I asked Sannion for an oracle of Dionysos regarding a religious question that was troubling me, and the answer we got was that the path I’m on is important in some way and that I should keep at it.

I feel my path is important also. although I’m not sure why exactly and have no idea where it is leading …if anywhere.

I’m sticking with it though, until further ‘divine’ notice :)
