Mythology and Paganism

About

Rather than see myself as an Eclectic Pagan (not that I have any problem with that whatsoever), I regard my path as Syncretic, combining all I know about divinities who through death and self-sacrifice, re-create the cosmos: a theme found in the Mystery Cults and other mythological traditions.

Shan and I

Myself and My Beloved Shanny

Currently (apart from an ongoing study of mythology) I mainly focus upon learning the Tarot and practice meditation. I also daily attend my altar dedicated to the divinity of cosmic-lunar re-creation. These regenerative powers that Cernunnos points towards via his mythic iconography as depicted on the Gundestrup cauldron. Particularly the serpent, stag, World tree antlers (that flank the ambrosial fruit of life) and represent the seasonal and lunar death and rebirth. He is also a Threshold God that sits between the lunar double door (his antlers gaining access to the solar gateway from which the ambrosial wellspring flows. He is also the bearer of the cosmic circle, which is the beginning and end of all things.

Good Morning Lake Stafford

Messing around with our digital camera and Windows Movie Maker. Shot all the footage on a Sunday morning during the summer (2008) as the sun was rising over the Lake. The music is the title track from the album Sowiesoso (1976) by the wonderful Cluster.

The complete track is to be found on YouTube.
